Wear RED Friday!

This powerful drawing by a 6th-grade student captures a reality that many Americans never fully see. On one side is a child sitting alone on the floor, counting down the days until Dad comes home. On the other side is the harsh reality of military service — danger, sacrifice, uncertainty, and separation from family.
While many children worry about homework, sports, or weekend plans, military children often carry burdens far beyond their years. They experience missed birthdays, empty seats at holidays, long deployments, sudden moves, anxiety during conflicts, and the emotional weight of wondering if their parents will safely return home. They learn strength early. They learn sacrifice early. And many quietly serve this nation alongside their parents without ever wearing a uniform.
This is why RED Friday matters. RED Friday stands for: Remember Everyone Deployed.
Across America, people wear red on Fridays to honor the brave men and women serving overseas and to remind military families that their sacrifices are seen, respected, and appreciated. It is more than a color — it is a symbol of unity, gratitude, patriotism, and support for those defending our freedoms while separated from the people they love most.
To every military child:America sees your sacrifice.America honors your strength. And America thanks your family for carrying burdens many will never fully understand.
