Chairman Bob Sutton to Speak at the West Broward Republican Club on Broward Soil & Water Conservation

I would like to thank Sara Fine and the West Broward Republican Club for the invitation to speak at their monthly meeting on Monday, June 8, 2026.

The meeting will be held at Vicky Bakery in Sunrise, Florida, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and I am honored to have the opportunity to discuss an issue that affects every resident of Broward County—our water resources, environmental stewardship, and conservation efforts.

As an elected Supervisor of the Broward Soil & Water Conservation District, I will be sharing information about:

• The history and purpose of the Broward Soil & Water Conservation District• The District's role in protecting natural resources and educating the public• Current conservation challenges facing Broward County• Opportunities for public involvement and community partnerships• The importance of responsible environmental stewardship while promoting economic growth and property rights.


I will also highlight several recent community service initiatives, including the Make America Clean Again projects that brought together volunteers to remove thousands of pounds of debris from local waterways and public spaces throughout Broward County.

Many residents are surprised to learn that conservation districts were originally created to address soil erosion, water quality, and natural resource management issues. Today, these districts continue to serve as an important bridge between government agencies, private property owners, educators, and community organizations.


As conservatives, we understand that protecting our environment and preserving our natural resources for future generations is not only good policy—it is good stewardship.

I look forward to meeting members of the West Broward Republican Club, answering questions, and discussing ways we can work together to preserve and enhance the quality of life in Broward County.
