Due Process, Just Compensation, and the Silencing of Republican 411

Free Speech and Amendments 1,5,and 14.
Free Speech and Amendments 1,5,and 14.

The United States Constitution lays out clear protections for citizens against government overreach. Three amendments in particular—the First, Fifth, and Fourteenth—were written to guarantee that no American loses their property, liberty, or voice without the law’s protection.

The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and the right to petition the government without fear of reprisal. The Fifth Amendment ensures no one is deprived of “life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” The Fourteenth Amendment applies these protections to the states, ensuring that no government body can arbitrarily strip away rights or property.

Together, these amendments form the backbone of liberty in America. Yet, on the very day Joe Biden became President, my rights under all three were trampled.

The Case of Republican 411

My website, Republican 411, was not a political machine. It wasn’t a social media empire. It was a simple site that listed local conservative events—picnics, meetings, grassroots rallies—so that neighbors and friends could stay connected and engaged in civic life.

Yet, without warning or explanation, I was told this website was a “national threat.” Think about that: a high school teacher running a local events page was branded dangerous to the nation. My website was taken from me—without a hearing, without due process, without compensation.

It wasn’t just my property that was taken. My voice was silenced. The First Amendment is clear: the government has no right to shut down lawful speech just because it doesn’t like the viewpoint. By erasing my site, they didn’t just take my work—they took my right to speak and my community’s right to be informed.

Under Trump, This Never Happened

During President Trump’s administration, Republican 411 ran without incident. Nobody labeled it a threat. Nobody silenced it. Nobody treated local conservatives gathering together as a danger to the Republic.

The difference is striking. Under Trump, I felt my constitutional rights were secure. Under Biden, they were stripped away overnight.

A Teacher, Not a Threat

How did a high school teacher running a calendar of events become treated as if I was plotting against the government? How did a website designed for civic engagement become a supposed “national security concern”?

These questions should alarm every American. Because if the government can silence me—a teacher with a simple website—what’s to stop it from silencing you?

Why This Matters

The First, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments are not suggestions. They are bedrock promises. They guarantee that:

  • You can speak freely without censorship.

  • You cannot be stripped of property without due process.

  • You are entitled to equal protection under the law.

When those protections are violated, it’s not just about one website, one teacher, or one political party. It’s about whether America will remain a free society—or whether dissenting voices will be silenced.

Final Thought

I may just be a teacher, but I know this much: when government silences citizens and seizes their work without due process, we are not living under the Constitution—we are living under tyranny.

History has taught us what happens when governments decide which voices are allowed and which are erased. America was founded to ensure that day never comes. And yet, for me, it already has.
