The Doctor You Choose Can Determine the Life You Live.

Dear Doctors Petrie and Tobias:
There are moments in life where the path forward is not determined by fate—but by the people you choose to trust. I’ve lived that truth.
At 25 years old, after a serious car accident, I sat across from a neurologist who told me plainly: “You’re not going to recover.” The prescription? Oxycodone for the pain… and a life on the sidelines. Sit down. Stay still. Accept it.
That’s not medicine—that’s surrender.
Dr. Petrie did not accept the above.
Instead of writing me off, he put me on a disciplined, conservative health regimen. No shortcuts. No dependency. Just accountability, structure, and belief in the body’s ability to recover when treated correctly. That decision didn’t just change my health—it restored my future.
Fast forward to today.
As I approach the one-year mark since my congestive heart episode, I found myself facing another defining moment. Another recommendation. Another crossroads.
One physician proposed a highly invasive path—drilling two holes into my head to relieve the Traumatic Brain Injury from the fall and installing a pacemaker for congestive heart failure. Now let me be clear—there is a place for aggressive medicine when it is necessary.
But there is also a danger when intervention becomes the default instead of the last resort.
Thank God that Dr. Tobias chose a differant approach.
Measured. Thoughtful. Strategic.
Instead of rushing to a procedure, he structured and oversaw a conservative approach—one focused on stabilization, management, and respect for the body.
And here I am today.
Still standing. Still working. Still living. That doesn’t happen by accident—it happens by alignment.
Here’s the lesson—and it’s bigger than medicine:
In America today, too many people are treated like a case file instead of a human being. Symptoms are managed, but root causes are ignored. Quick fixes are prioritized over long-term outcomes. That mindset doesn’t build health—it builds dependency. The right doctor doesn’t just prescribe. The right doctor thinks. Questions. Listens. And most importantly—cares enough to look beyond the obvious.
So let me say this clearly:
Protect your health like it’s your most valuable asset—because it is.And just as important—Choose doctors who treat YOU, not just your symptoms.
Because in the end, the difference between living and merely existing…often comes down to who’s sitting across from you in that chair.
To Dr. Petrie and To Dr. Tobias.
Thank you for choosing the harder path—the better path—the path that gave me my life back.
Yes! Thank you to Teresa, my very supportive and beautiful wife, who was told to move on; he will never recover.
Jeremiah 29:11 God says, "As long as I continue to wake you up each day, I still have plans for you."
