In a remarkable act of civic leadership, Mery Lopez Palma, Joni Bryan, and Celeste Ellich have successfully delivered pocket-sized U.S. Constitutions to every 8th grade student in Broward County—thanks to the nationwide effort led by the 917 Society.
📚 Why It Matters:The mission of the 917 Society is to ensure that every 8th grader in America receives a personal copy of the U.S. Constitution so they can learn their rights, understand the foundation of our Republic, and become informed citizens. The organization takes its name from September 17, the day the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787—a date commemorated every year as Constitution Day.
📖 Knowledge is FreedomUnderstanding the Constitution empowers students with the tools they need to protect their freedom of speech, religious liberty, due process, and more. These aren’t just historic principles—they are living protections that shape our daily lives as Americans.
👏 A Standing OvationThis grassroots movement wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of local champions like Mery, Joni, and Celeste, who coordinated volunteers, printed materials, and visited schools to make this happen. Their work exemplifies what it means to stand up for liberty and invest in the next generation of leaders.
📸 The joyful moment captured above shows a dedicated team of volunteers who helped distribute the booklets—proving that patriotism is alive and well in Broward County.
Let’s follow their example by learning our rights, teaching our youth, and honoring the Constitution every day—not just on September 17th.
